THE CHARACTER

Character Name: Jane Smith
Series: Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Canon Point: Fresh off the ending of the movie. I'd say The Storm occurred right after hers and John's last couples therapy session.
Character Age: 30
Background: Not much is known of Jane's childhood or how she got into the business of professional killing. Near the end of the film, Jane comes clean to John regarding a lot about who she is - and isn't. We learn that her parents died when she was 5 years old, making her an orphan raised in a Jewish home. The 'parents' that were at hers and John's wedding were hired actors.

Her and John resided in New York.

Personality: Jane is a natural-born leader with a strong sense of command - a professional killer who allows for no room for mistakes. If she has a job to do, she's gonna get it done, and you can bet it will be done well. She projects authority through her embodiment of charisma, confidence, and often times ruthlessness. Structure and precision are her game, and she has quite the temper when things don't go the way she wants it to, and quickly. Who needs patience when something can be happening right now, after all.

She'll do whatever it takes to meet her goals, and this includes skillful lying and, of course, murdering. She feels no remorse and she can sleep at night just fine. In fact, she enjoys and is proud of her work. She has an extraordinary work ethic and is always aiming for spectacular results. She has a fondness for the way she runs things, but she reserves a particular respect for those who know how to manage in a structure and intellect that she can get behind.

In everyday mundane life, Jane is quite pleasant; her smile is contagious, she's mastered small-talk, and she tells people what they'd want to hear. Though, this bores her tremendously, and she will seldom be the one to take the initiative to move it a step further. She bears little interest in developing what is seemingly a mere acquaintanceship at best.

However, at Jane's innermost part, her pride courses through her with an intensity that is well acquainted with her stubbornness. She hates being wrong, but she's always right anyway. It's always either her way or the highway, as she believes her way to always be the most organized, the most logical, and the best use of limited time (which is often proven to be true in reality). With someone else's plan comes uncertainty. And uncertainty in any situation is a sensation that she dislikes and tries to avoid by always having as much control as possible. Many whom have the privilege of getting close to Jane may (and will) describe her as cold-hearted and having a stick up her ass, but her relentlessness and unforgiving nature take up a massive part of the way she operates. She uses her time as though it's borrowed, and she will make it loud and clear and painful when the tiny slot of her patience is tested. If she likes you, you may be lucky enough to be treated to her passive-aggression in such situations. Just... don't push her further, and her husband would back this up.

At the end of the day, Mr. and Mrs. Smith is, indeed, a humourous action film. On a slightly more comedic side, Jane is a fan of her flashy gadgets, being surrounded by contemporary aesthetics, and keeping things tidy. She likes things the way she likes them and there is just no room for anyone else's tastes. Not if she can help it.

Powers/Abilities: As an assassin, Jane is well-acquainted with many skills. She has plenty of experience with hand-to-hand combat under her belt, as well as a wide range of knowledge in all sorts of weaponry, including (but certainly not limited to) explosives and firearms. Her aim is impeccable, and she's able to handle automatic guns and large, heavy cannons quite well, and not just for a woman of her small frame. She's also a quick thinker, always on her toes. She's a fantastic problem-solver and she can turn essentially anything into a useful weapon, though she favors knives anyway.

Jane is well-coordinated, and this is not only evident in her being a good shot, but it also spills out through her driving skills. She can balance herself quite well and partakes in hobbies such as bouldering at high difficulties.

And then... there's sex. Jane oozes sex. She will play up her sexuality if it's necessary, and she's damn good at it.

Power Nerfs (if applicable): You've got yourself a regular old Plain Jane human here. No powers needing to be nerfed!

Inventory: Jane comes into El Nysa with some clothing and knives. Definitely some knives. At least a couple of blades she can strap to her thigh. That's important!

Incentives: Jane definitely needs to know that her husband is safe. This will be the first thing she needs checked off of her list (and there is a list). Then, she'll explore her options. What can the Orbiters do? What are the limits, if any? Can they make her bulletproof? "Do it," she'll say. Next, she'll want to make sure she's well-equipped. Knives, pistols, whatever The Orbiters are willing to give her, she'll take.

Then there's money. As an assassin, Jane's paycheck was quite generous. She drapes herself with expensive garments, lived in a massive house in a gated community, and always makes damn sure that money is not an issue for what she deals with. She's a survivor and knows what she needs to do with as little means as possible, she'd just simply rather not. Especially if it doesn't need to be, and she'll push this one.
